| Graham Bonney was born on 2nd of June 1943 in Basildon/Essex. Already as a young kid he was in several film-productions. In the age oft 16 he started his first band at school, followed by the ESPRESSO FIVE 1961 , THE AMBERS 1962 and The RIOT SQUAD in 1964. Graham, an excellent guitar-player, joined in those years musicians that wrote music-history: Mitch Mitchell (who was later the drummer Jimmy Hendrix Experience), Robin Trowel (Procul Harum) and Gary Brooker. |
In 1965 Barry Mason met Graham and tghey started writing together. So the legendary hit "SUPERGIRL" was composed, a song that charted straight away in the Britain`s Top-Twenty. So GRAHAM BONNEY came 1966 as a young pop-singer to Germany. Within weeks Graham was the new pop-idol and for several months "SUPERGIRL" stayed in the TOP 10. In Germany`s most popular BRAVO-MUSICBOX he shot the Beatles from No. 1 position. Together with the BEACHBOYS and CHRIS ANDREWS he went on tour and lots of times he was in the popular TV-show BEATCLUB. |
His record-company now set on a German career ! Lots of Top 10 - Hits like SIEBENMEILENSTIEFEL, DAS GIRL MIT DEM LA-LA-LA, WÄHLE 3-3-3 or 99,9 PROZENT followed. One TV-show followed the next: three times German Song-Contest (Deutscher Schlager-Wettbewerb), ! Dozens of times the legendary "ZDF HITPARADE", as TV-moderator he had his own musicshow " HITS A GOGO ". End of the sixties and early seventies more hits followed:"HEY LITTLE LADY". "HALLO TAXI", "SCHNEEWITTCHEN", "BRANDY", "PAPA JOE", "DU BIST VIEL ZU SCHÖN...", "ROSEMARY UND COMPANIE", "ICH HAB`DIE GANZE NACHT NUR AN DICH GEDACHT". |
Since middle of the seventies Graham is one of the most booked entertainers in Germany with up to 180 - 200 live-shows a year. A perfect entertainer ! |
Hundreds of shows he did in the eighties in East-Germany, in Honecker`s GDR. As British citizen he had no problems and the East-German audience loved him ! |
Over 350 times in German, British, Dutch, Belgian, Austrian, Swiss, Italian and Spanish TV ! |
Graham is married since 1984 with the German stewardess Iris. Both live in Germany just outside Cologne. Here Graham has his own studio and his garden. |
| In 2005 he released the longplay "DER LETZTE ROCK`N ROLL" and in summer 2006 follows the new recording of Supergirl ! "SUPERGIRL" exactly 40 years after "SUPERGIL" ! |
